A little later than planned (as it’s just coming up to a couple of months since launching), so a belated hello to you all, and welcome to Fishery.co.uk! Lots has been happening behind the scenes, and with around 500 fisheries live up on site, we’re working hard to get as much of the UK & Ireland covered as possible, so please bare with us! We’ll be including everything, inland fisheries, rivers, sea fishing locations, canals, around 2,000+ in total, so if your fishery isn’t listed yet, please leave a comment or let us know through through the Contact page and we’ll endeavour to get it up asap.
All new developments and updates will go up on our Twitter and Facebook pages with any major announcements uploaded on site into the News section right here. Feedback has been amazing, and we’re really pleased that people are already making use of the site’s many features like our 5-day Weather Forecasting for Anglers (using Fryerning Fisheries as an example). If you’re new and not familiar with the Fishery page layouts, we’ve knocked up a quick infographic below to show you what each section tells you on a Fishery page.
Fishery Page Breakdown
We’ll post another couple of infographics for some of the other features on site, including the 5-day Weather Forecasts and Catch Reporting. Our field testers have been feeding back high levels of accuracy for the weather reports and we’re always on the lookout for more, so if you fancy becoming one of them, give us a shout through the Contact page and we’ll get back to you.
Hot Seat – Adam Penning
As many of you will have seen already, Adam Penning kicked off our monthly Hot Seat section on Fishery.co.uk last month with some tips and advice on how it pays to be different when angling for carp. As one of the UK’s most respected carp anglers and regular faces on your TV screens and angling mags, we’re looking forward to more carpy goodness from Mr Penning over the coming weeks! His next post goes live next week …
Catch Reports
There have also been some great Catch Reports going up online, and this is one of the features that both Anglers and the Fisheries can use. If you’ve had a great day’s angling at your local fishery, want to share some tips or tactics that have worked well, or have some cracking pics you simply want to share and show off, upload them and let others know about your session – all you need to do is Register for a free account and you’re set to go! If there’s a Catch Report you like, rate it with the Thumbs Up and share it with your friends.
Own a Tackle Shop?
A reminder to Tackle Shop owners/managers, get your business in front of anglers that are looking for you now. All listings on Fishery.co.uk are FREE. We’ve already responded to many requests on social media from people asking where the closest tackle shop is to the fishery they’re visiting, so get yours online now and add your tackle shop!
Competitions
Finally, an angling site wouldn’t be an angling site without the odd competition thrown in here and there, so we have some of those in the pipeline too, including some giveaways, so watch this space and we’ll announce them on Twitter and Facebook as and when they happen!
In the meantime, we hope you continue to enjoy the site, and if you have any feedback, good or bad, please let us know.
Steve.
