Fryerning Fisheries is a carp anglers oasis located in the heart of Essex about 15 minutes from Brentwood. Owned and operated by Chris Knowles, Fryerning is an immaculate and stunning syndicate fishery with an amazing head of carp spread across three lakes; the Car Park Lake, Valley Lake and Main Lake.
There are some spectacular carp on offer at Fryerning, the product of rigorous scientific excellence in fishery management and running their own breeding programme. To date, Fryerning boasts an impressive stock of hundred of 20’s, 100 English 30’s, 14 x 40’s and the jewel in the crown, Gurmintrude at 51lbs (as of June 2014). Yes, you read that correctly!
Aside from the angling, other facilities include modern clean toilets and showers, free tea and coffee making facilities in the Lakeside Lodge, free charging facilities and a deep freezer for bait and food. Security and safety is second-to-none; access controlled electronic gated entrance and CCTV installed throughout make this one of the safest venues around, giving you total peace of mind.
To top it all off, if you feel you need to brush up on a few skills, or are new to the sport, tutorials are available on site with carp angling legend, Adam Penning (booked with Adam directly).

Fishery Rules
- Photography/fish care, all carp must be photographed over a cradle.
- Fish should not be lifted above knee height.
- All anglers must use a suitable landing net, recovery weigh sling and cradle.
- Stalking - anglers must have recovery sling to hand, cradle can be collected once fish is safe and secure in sling.
- A large bucket of water (preferably two) next to cradle.
- All members must have the essential carp care kit (antiseptic/clinic gel).
- No keep nets or sacks to be used at any time.
- Rods must not be left unattended at any time.
- Barbless hooks only. No bent hooks.
- Minimum of 12lb breaking strain to be used.
- No Braided mainline except spod or marker rods.
- No permanently fixed leads or bolt rigs. All leads must be able to break free should a fish become snagged.
- All fish to be returned ASAP after weighing and photographing.
- No nuts of any description, unless ground down.
- Maggots only to be used from British Summer Time end 26/10/2014 to 29/03/2015. Rod limits also increase by one rod on all 3 waters (Main Lakefrom 3 to 4, Valley lakes from 2 to 3)
- No bait boats
- Catch report must be filled in FULLY with all captures over 20lb.
- All anglers must hold a valid Environment Agency Licence.
- Non-members may not be brought to the lakes without owner’s permission.
- All cars must be parked in designated areas.
- All gates to be closed at all times. The surrounding farmland and woods are strictly out of bounds.
- No litter. Anglers are responsible for removing their litter, which must be removed from the site.
- Please do not leave litter in our bins.
- Maximum stay five days. No return within seven days.
- No excessive drinking of alcohol.
- No Generators.
- No BBQs on the grass.
- In winter, cars must be kept off the grass verges.
- Anyone found breaking these rules will risk losing their ticket with no refund.
- No swim holding
